Job Description
| Job Summary: This role is to underwrite new businesses in accordance with guidelines and procedures. The role will be required to review relevant documents which include but not limited to potential clients' applications and medical reports in order to evaluate the risks presented to company before making decision to issue the policy. Key Responsibilities: •Review potential clients' insurance application and assess their background information including reports and medical reports to assess the risks •Liase with various specialists such as panel clinic doctors for risk assessments •Handle policy holders/agent’s complaints about underwriting decision •Establish and monitor panel clinics’ performance and activities to ensure smooth and quality delivery of medical services to customers •Provide health consultation to customer when they need further clarification about their health condition •Provide training to jet Underwriter (team) and junior underwriter •Handle the pending policy for client, life planner, and panel doctor •Conduct training of general medical knowledge to internal and external stakeholders •Perform other tasks assigned by line manager |
Job Requirement
| •Degree in medical science or related disciplines •At least 1 year experience in underwriting in life insurance industry •Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis and evaluation of data •Customer service oriented and enjoy working with people from all level •Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint •Communication skills (diplomatic, strategic) – verbal, written (e.g. reports), presentations (developing and presenting) |
